The West Australian Powerlifting Association (WAPA) is proud to announce the 2015 state team that will be representing West Australia at ProRaw 7 in Melbourne November 16th – 18th.
The Pro Raw format, now in its seventh year, has built a strong reputation for attracting the “Best of the Best” from all the various powerlifting federations, and in doing so have delivered competitors the highest calibre of competition in Australia.
Contestants will be vying to take home a share of over $20000 in prize money and sponsored goods.
Event organiser and founder Markos Markopoulos said “We have been trying for years to attract lifters from West Australia. We know from results posted just how strong the talent pool is, and with WA involvement ProRaw now becomes a true national event.”
The team has been selected from the 150 lifters that have participated in various events these past 12 months. Each athlete chosen has earned the right to participate by making a qualifying total in their respective weight class.
As a member of the touring team both athletes and traveling staff will be fitted in uniform for this event.
State selector Henry Day said “Those selected have clearly been the cream of the crop however what’s more exciting is the talent coming up behind these guys. Our sport is on a huge growth spurt at the moment, especially on the female side, which is seeing the standard rising at a phenomenal rate.”
This is the first state team selected under the WAPA banner. If you would like to know more about Powerlifting contact Henry on 0401579419 or email Henry@musclepit.com.au
